Gagne

Postby Freebird27 » Fri Apr 15, 2005 1:13 am

I just saw in the threads history that someone posted they saw on ESPN that Gagne will be sidelined for weeks instead of days...has anyone heard anything of this? Any updates or anything.

I am submitting waiver claims and am not sure how hard to push for Brazeban...obviously if Gagne is due to be out longer than anticipated then it bumps up Braze.

There is no chance of Eric Gagne (elbow) returning from the disabled list when he is eligible April 16.
''How far we go beyond that is what we don't know,'' manager Jim Tracy said. ''He's going to be completely asymptomatic before throwing a ball.''

43 minutes at this time of night and you bump it twice? Patience young grasshopper. ;-)

I've got Brazoban, so the longer Gagne's out, the more free agent pool saves I get. :-D Last I heard, he's not even throwing yet. :-° I could be wrong though, I don't own Gagne, so I really haven't been paying too much attention to his progress (If he's making any). B-)

Sorry 8-o

I dont own Gagne either....although I do have Brazeban. I can never get myself to blow a 2-3 round pick on a closer.

The good thing about taking a closer early is that if he gets injured, you're not in too much of a hole :-D
The odds of the AL MVP coming from the American League are looking pretty good.

The only good thing about Gagne going down early is when he comes back it will probably be for good unless he doesn't come back at all :~( .

I've gotten pretty good production out of my back end relievers C. Cordero, M. Batista, and my other ace closer F. Codero although Francisco needs to pick it up...

Gagne's health is real messed up. Even if he comes back in a few weeks, I predict he's out with injuries for half the year.

per CBS Sportsline:

News: Dodgers manager Jim Tracy said there is no timetable for the return of closer Eric Gagne, but it figures to be weeks rather than days. Gagne has a sprained ligament in his right elbow.

Analysis: Yhency Brazoban will continue to serve as the team's closer in Gagne's absence. Gagne should be considered out for Fantasy play until at least early May. The Dodgers rushed him this spring, so they might be inclined to hold him out longer than necessary this time around.
