the 25 Million Dollar bullpen

Post by wrveres »

Put this in your Yankee pipe and smoke it ...

Linebrink 1.5 mill
Woody 5 mill
Hoffman 5 mill
Chan Ho 15 mill .. .
:-B :-B

Kevin Towers really needs to just go .. just walk away .. go .. please .. let the Sandy Alderson era begin .. I beg you.

I mean what should we expect from a guy who prides himself on bieng 'the sludge merchant' (his words), but that right there is just over the top .. OMG!

All I got to say is, with all that savings for next year, Klesko, Park and whomever coming off the books, we better be getting fricking Blalock.

C'mon now. That pen could make a difference in a division decided by the team that finishes a game or two over .500.

I look at that and I see starting pitching depth. Sure Woody and Chan Ho are mediocre big leage starters but when a pitcher or two goes down, as inevitably will happen, they are lot more servicable than some scrub from AAA.

Obviously they are both overpaid, but it is unfair to imply that they serve no greater purpose than hurling long relief.

Hoffman and Linebrink are both great deals...

Williams and Park are not.

To get rid of Nevin the Pads had to take on another bad contract and that is why they have Park.

Williams for 5 million is not a terrible deal (see Wright, Pavano, Milton, Ramon Ortiz, Jarrod Washburn, and a host of other medicore pitchers making more money).

I wouldn't say he has done that bad a job.

Now if want to complain about trading Bay that is another story...
