Does anyone know why the royals aren't giving him a better spot in the lineup?? The guy can obviously hit, and has a lot of speed thats going to waste (he stole like almost 80 bases one year in the minors). And I really wish yahoo makes him 3B eligible soon.

I totally agree with you on the fact that German should be hitting #1 or #2 with all that speed and ability to hit. I just picked him up. It seems to me if he played all season, was allowed to run, and hit in the top of the order, that he would get numbers close to Figgins. Of course, he won't come close in runs because of the lineup. He is not 3B eligible on CBS yet either. He needs 4 more games I believe. He is more valuable as a middle infielder anyway.

He is getting on base (.567 obp on 27 ABs), went 2 for 3 today, and would probably be scoring more (even w/ royals offense) if he was higher up in the lineup. Those were just my thougts.

There was an earlier thread about him somewhere that compared him to the chone figgins of two years ago, which i can totally see now.

German is hitting lead off today!!! If they keep him there and give him the green light to run, his value sky rockets.

Yeah, he was 0-4 in the leadoff spot today. We'll see if they keep him there.

I'm a Royals fan, and I can't believe this. Did my team (who hasnt been to the playoffs since I was 11 months old) really get lucky for once? God I hope he can keep it up.

whats strange is with the rangers he was kind of considered a AAAA guy...he got a sept callup and didnt do much other than pinch run.

could be this trade worked out for both teams, as texas got fabio castro

We also can't forget that German actually has to produce these numbers. We'll see how he fares since he has never gotten a real shot at the ML level. His minor league stats should translate to something similar though.

also...ive read that he might not be a starter at 3b for long, as they expect teahan to be back before too long.

guess it all depends on performance
