I'd go with something like: .310 AVG, 35 HR, 130 RBI, 120 R, give or take a couple of #'s for each stat.

If you draft him, as I did both last year and this year (purely chance because my league is autodrafted bc of schedule conflicts), watch his injuries reports daily. He kept me on edge all last year, he was playing through tremendous pain, and I have a feeling it might just give this year.

100 RBI is a gross underestimate in my opinion.

Pain or not I think he's good for .305 33 120 110

I had him last year also, and I was always waiting for another hurt/injury. Always day to day too. But he gutted it out and had a good year. Another year older, and healing even slower. I avoided him this year.

At the beginning of last year, Sheff started off slowly. From what I gathered watching the games, he seemed to be jumping ahead of pitches a little - he would crush balls, but pull them foul. Once he adjusted, he was crushing those balls into fair territory instead. So while it's true that he's getting old and is an injury risk, I'd expect a slight improvement over last year since I expect him to start out the season better, as he'll already be adjusted to AL pitching.

So I'd expect something like:
.300-40-120-125-5
(AVG-HR-R-RBI-SB)

I agree with the overall projection/opinion in this thread.

i thought sheffield had offseason surgery on that shoulder. Won't it be pain free this year?
