Casey Blake, does he have a job?

Postby RynMan » Sat Mar 05, 2005 3:32 am

Anyone tell me what the deal is with Blake? I look at the depth charts for the Indians and it sure looks crowded everywhere except at catcher! So with that said, can anyone see Blake gettin 500 AB's? I just finished me team draft and I took Mcpherson over him in the late rounds, so Blake went undrafted. Who would you guys rather have? Blake with limited time or Dallas with full time?

Don't even worry about it .... he'll be starting at LF this season full-time. I like Blake over McPherson as well, better chance of putting up solid numbers.

I feel that he will get his playing time. It may be split between OF, 3B, and some DH but they have to get him into the lineup somewhere.
You don't have to like 'em to own 'em!!!!

blake will get plenty of playing time this year.....all depending on how spring training goes for sizemore, juan gone, garko, boone, and pherlta,,,, you could see blake anywhere from LF, RF, 3b, or 2b even......but u can guarantee he will be in the starting lineup(i am guessing RF) as i think sizemore will prove in ST that he deserves to be the starting center fielder for the injuns this year.....

The Indians are projecting Blake as their everyday LF with Gonzalez in RF. If Gonzalez does not make it back, they will in all likelihood move Blake to RF and Sizemore (??) to LF.

In any event, he should be in the lineup. :-°

Ok. If Blake is in left and Gonzalez is in right. Where does Crisp fit in if Sizemore is in center? DH? I think not. I believe Sizemore starts the season in the minors. When Gonzalez gets a hang nail and goes on the DL about mid May then Sizemore comes up.

I think Crisp is the starting CF. Sizemore will be either on the bench (assuming Gonzalez starts) or in the minors.

Blake is starting in Left field. He also qualifes at 3rd in Yahoo, so I think he makes a really good utility guy.

Yeah, I missed the run on 3B and now am thinking of taking Blake as 3B....if he gets playing time its not a bad option.
