I'm not gonna have any reluctance whatsoever once the big bangers are off the board. When hitters like Corey Patterson and Jacque Jones start being picked, I'm gonna grab the Giambino! ;-D

Giambi's gonna have a solid year, anyone got my back on this one or am I a lone soldier heading to battle? :-D
The odds of the AL MVP coming from the American League are looking pretty good.

If solid is:

.250-.260
30-35 HR's
80-85 Rbi's

Then I got your back }:-)

I'm thinking back to Giambino numbers maybe with something like 35 HR.

I'm grabbing this stud!

Late round pick only.

You would be a fool to take him over Corey Patterson though!! 8-o

Lots of people are sleeping on the steroided sell out this year.

And they should be.

If your league counts runs, RBI, homers and OPB...he could be a real sleeper. And he probably won't hurt your average too much, either.

I'm thinking .285, 100 runs scored, 115 RBI, 33 homeruns, .400 OBP.

Steroids or no steroids, he had all kinds of injuries and ailments last year. And besides his knee...none of the stuff that bothered him is the kind of stuff that lingers. He should be much much healthier this season.

He may be off roids, but if he's healthy, he is a great hitter. How can you project .250-.260? This is a man who has a .411 career OBA. Most people don't understand what that means. Do you know how many people in all of baseball had an OBA that high last year alone? Two. He has a good eye at the plate, is patient, and is an excellent hitter. Steroids were a small part of what made him one of the best hitters of the past decade. He might not crush 40 HR, but healthy, I see .300 - 30 - 100 - 100. Not great, but for where he's being drafted that's a huge steal.
