Eric Duncan???

Postby Purple Haze » Sat Mar 05, 2005 6:16 pm

Will Eric Duncan remain a Yankee, and what do you expect from him over the next couple years?

Will he become an elite player?

If he does get traded, will he be better off, or worse off?

Thanks in advance ;-D

I doubt he stays a Yankee. 3B is taken for a while.

Exactly

He was a first round pick, but who knows. I think he'll eventually be traded unless he can play 2B.

There's no reason he can't be a firstbaseman.

And a move to the outfield is also possible.

I've heard his defense up to this point at 3B hasn't been very impressive and a move to first is very possible regardless of where he ends up. Not saying it will happen for sure, but this is what I've heard. And with the Yankees' recent history, I wouldn't be surprised if he was #1 trade bait if they need somebody mid-season.

Duncan has been trying out first base at Spring Training and was doing so over the winter. If another team wants him to play third, though, I'm sure he would.

I'm not sure how many of you guys realize this....But Eric Duncan was actually already traded by the Yankees this offseason in the original Randy Johnson trade.

Then, the Dodgers backed out of that deal, and the Yanks and Diamondbacks worked out a new trade...without Duncan.

Unless Duncan shows a lot this year, there's no reason to think that the Yankees see him as a guy who is untradeable.

like others have said, 1B is likely gonna be his 2nd position, and the spot he will play if he makes the team over the next few years. He's got the chance to be a very good player, but probably not a superstar. however, he's not untradeable by any means.
