Pujols : No News is Good News?

I'm not too high on ARod either. I would take Pujols, Vlad, Beltran, and Tejada before I even thought about ARod. Tejada is so much better than any other SS that I would take him before ARod when guys like Rolen, Beltre, and to some extent Blalock will do close to what ARod will do. Blalock had almost identical numbers to ARod except his SBs are less - and you can get Blalock in the 5th round instead of 1st or second overall. The big 4 to me are Pujols, Vlad, Beltran, and Tejada. Pujols and Vlad are unique in that they are power/average guys that are almost guarantees. They hit 60 points higher than ARod in Average, Pujols had 10 more HRs and 20 more RBIs. Just depends on your overall drafting strategy I guess....

Arod is my second pick behind pujols, and i hate yankees. Last year was an off year, if you can call it that, 36 HR and 106 RBIs and 28 SB. He will be huge this year 40+ HR, 120+ RBIs, and 35+ SB. He is a 40-40 player, it is just up to the manager to let him run, plus he is at 3B. Puljols is nice but the position is sooo deep, 3b is also deep but certainly not as much.

I don't think he was ready for NY last year, he was just happy to be there and figured they would automatically win. Like everyone he is pissed, and he is one of the few athletes that performs better when he is mad.

Yes i am sure. 3B and 1B are comparable but 3B drops after the top ten, 1B drops after 14.

actually 1st base drops sharply after the 5th. compared to 11 or so very good thirdbasemen.

Ugh, I hate getting into stat wars. So I will just show my rankings for the top 1b and 3b, and I am sure yours differ
1b
Albert Pujols
Helton
Teixeira
Ortiz
Thome
Huff
Delgado
Dunn
Lee
Sexson
Green
Konerko
Hafner
Casey
3b
ARod
Rolen
Beltre
Ramirez
Chavez
Huff
Blalock
Mora
Lowell
Jones
Glaus
Wright

Now if you had a team of all 1b or all 3b, which would you rather have? I choose 1b, but i would like to see your rankings to see where you are coming from. At every ranking matching 1 and 1, 2 and 2 etc, I see the 1B as winning.

those top 4 1st basemen are so much better than the rest. so if i was drafting id like to get my hands on one of them. as opposed to third base were there are 11 or 12 very respectable starters.
