Gotay looks to have earned the starting job at second base, according to The Kansas City Star. His hot bat and improved defense moved him ahead of Tony Graffanino this spring. Barring a serious late-spring slide, Gotay looks to have the job sewn up and could be a nice sleeper pick in most leagues, considering his nice potential at the plate. He is the team leader in slugging percentage and total bases this spring.

It may be a typo but rotowire has him hitting 42 homers when he was in A ball

It is a major typo if they have him hitting 42 HR in A ball. He hit 30 HR in his minor league career with the most being 9 in a season. The Graffanino injury might be enough of a good break for Gotay to keep the job and I would love for that to happen. But I don't have much faith in Gotay holding the job more than a month.

I agree this guy could be a nice sleeper pick if he continues to swing the bat the way he has this spring. He's also leading the team/league in RBI's at this point with 17. I realize it's spring training and this could be a flash in the pan, but it could be a nice value pick as a backup.

Any other KC fans have any other info on this guy? (Thinking of dropping Biggio for him and hoping for the best)

KC fans like him because he plays hard. He'll fit well into the newest youth movement that KC has had to endure.

Don't have a clue as to what he will do in full season.
