Brian Roberts - Ricky Hendrson revisited????

OKAY, I'm not being fair.....

How about we WAIT for Roberts to have AROD, VLAD, SORIANO type years before comparing him to those players.

I think Soariano numbers are plausable... but I doubt the other two. I'm a doubter - yes. He can break out, like Boone did, and with added speed he will a phenomial fantasy second baseman.

He has to finish a year first.

Remember Mark Quinn? Kevin Mass? Shane Spencer?

uhuh.

just entertain the idea that roberts could be having his first great year. The elite hitters aren't always gonna be JUST pujols, vlad, arod, beltran etc etc.

IF Roberts is having his tremendous break-out year, he's doing everything right and now its not week 1, week 2, but week 3. And hes got a hit in every game etc etc.

Its not likehes been in the league for a decade and never put up numbers -- people seem to be dissing him a bit too much.

In his major leag career he's hit a total of 17 home runs in 1555 at-bats.

The guy is 5-9, 176lbs.

If he hits 20-30 I'll be very very surprised.

He still has emmense value. A leadoff hitter with some pop a top of a sweet BAL lineup.

You are a believer. I am not. This may not be an accident - its called juice or a cork.

am i the only one who saw that this guy is trying to say brian roberts uses steroids. Have you EVER seen this guy??? Hes a tiny man, like you said 176 pounds.

I don't get it. I'm not saying he's not good.
He's great. But, he's not AROD!!!
How can you compare him to AROD? VLAD? That makes no sense. These guys have established track records going way back to their prospect days. They've always had power potential.

Comparing Brian Roberts to Vlad and AROD at this point is like comparing Brady Anderson to Babe Ruth after the "break-out" year. Actually, its worse, at least Brady finished the year with 50 hr's.

The steroids/cork comment is ridiculous and should be taken back. I am definitely not a doubter of Roberts abilities. I have the guy and drafted him for the production he put up last year. The power numbers is a big plus. I have no idea when this will stop, hopefully never since its a keeper league.

roberts had the speed coming into this year.....don't pretend he didnt get 50 doubles last year, third year in the league 27 yr old, those doubles are turning into hrs now plain and simple.

You guys convinced me.

I just traded Vlad for Brian Roberts.
Can't wait for the 100/40/100/40/340 year.
Thanks for helping me see the light.

Exactly, its week 3. I know you're proud and excited that you got him on your team, but if you think hes going to keep this pace all year, you're going to be disapointed. Don't get me wrong, hes a good 2nd bagger, but an Arod or Vladdy he is not and thats all I am arguing.

And if you need some reasurance on that, offer him up to the guy in your league that has Vlad or Arod and see what his response will be.
