The owner in my league that has Wood is willing to part with him, he is sick (lol). My question is how good is he going to be? If he was an 8.5 out of 10 befotre what is he now and what will he be? :-?

It depends on your needs and what you have to offer and what he is willing to give up.

Wood is one of the most over-rated pitchers out there,,,,,, but he does have value....

can you give any more infor???????????

what would you have to give up??????????

He is really lacking consistency so far, but that should come around. I agree that he is overrated, but if you can get him cheap it might not be a bad idea. You would be worrying about his health all season though. :-o

It is a points league with 6 keepers. We don't have to pick starters, we get the 4 s.p.'s with the most points for the week. Pitchers get 1 point per k and ininng, -1 per walk and earned run. 10 per win.
My strarters are Peavy (keeper), Bonderman, R. Lopez, Drese, Marquis, Leiter, Backe, Claussen, and Robertson. We have a 30 man roster so I will pick-up weak pitchers who have 2 starts.
I was thinking of offering him Lopez...any thoughts.

My thoughts are if you can get him for Lopez...then DO!!...but I don't think you can. You do need pitching help, but I think you will have to offer more than Lopez to get him.

Hmm, that's funny. I was just trying to figure out who I could get if I traded away Wood! In fact, I was offered Mota and R. Lopez and asked the cafe for advice. The advice was to hold onto Wood.

I'm usually very good about being patient with players, but Wood has me in full panic mode. I'm thinking about sitting him until he starts pitching well. :-o

The fact that I was even considering trading him for Mota & Lopez means that if you want Wood, now is the time to make the offer.

This is a quandry to me.....

I am NO FAN of Mota and have said he will be a bust..

That said that saves he may give you(before he loses his job) may make that deal worth it.....again depending on your needs.

While I think Wood has value, I just think he is over-rated in most leagues.

I don't think it's ever a bad time to have Wood. :*)

Just Offered Lopez, Glaus and Wickman for Wood, Rhanda and Council. I could use another 2nd baseman (have Soriano with no backup) and I am good at relievers. We count 2, I have Lidge, Wickman, Hawkins and MacDougal.
Any thoughts on the offer?
