You're crazy, in standard 12 team leagues he's borderline WW material. I suppose he could have a career year at 32 but I just don't see it happening.

Not trying to be a dink or anything, but he has averaged 23.75 HR's in the past 4 years..how is 25 hr's a career year? And thats being injured quite a bit (average of 129 games played) Having said that, .320 is a bit high, like about .50 points too high. I grabbed him in my deepest league. Those mets are tough to read this year, so I don't mind taking a stab at him.

I was looking more at the average than the HR, 25HR is possible. The biggest thing was the average, which I don't see getting over .270.

average

Postby gabenterprises » Fri Apr 22, 2005 12:22 pm

Interesting that average is the issue; I watch the guy hit (or do when he plays) and find his swing and eye to be quite impressive. I guess its a hunch, but I see him over .300. The .320 was followed by a ! so I recognize .320 is unlikely. However, I like him as a hitter for average, and if he stays healthy...

In alot of ways you are right on what you say, due to the fact that when healthy over the past couple of seasons, he has hit for a decent average. He is a career .283 hitter, which has been brought down by his numbers early in his career. Maybe its cause he plays for the Mets, and I assume he will just suck at some point, or maybe its that I don't believe he can stay healthy, but I still don't see him hitting over.270-.280.

The guy is a plus outfielder if he ever played a full season but I guess that's an oxymoron or something.

this is nothing new for floyd, he's just been hurt for the past few years. although .320 is a bit high, i wouldn't be at all surprised to see him put up those numbers, with the addition of a few steals. and don't forget, the mets have a decent lineup this year for him to hit in. ;-D
