I wonder why sac bunts aren't somehow factored into the equation even though sac flies are???

I guess I'll just have to file that under, "Things that make you go Hmmmm".

Because sac bunts are made by guys who have zero chance at beating it out to first.

Sac flies are mistakes basically. Sure, the batter may be trying to hit a long fly ball, but they are not trying to make an out in the process. It's more of an accident where as sac bunts, the batter knows he's going to be out.

Hope that makes sense, it's late and I'm tired. Lol.

You're right though, Ichiro gets a bonus since if there's a man on 1st and he bunts, it's considered a sacrifice if he gets out, but a hit if he gets on. Goes for all the speedsters (Scotty Pods, Pierre, etc.).

I'm sure they will eventually come out with a new stat that evens that out though. There are stats for everything. Lol.
