Matty Holliday

Matty H has raw power, there is no doubt about that. He is making good contact and it's only a matter of time before he starts knocking balls out the park on a consistent basis. Hawpe has started well, but Matty has a much larger upside, look for at least 25 bombs.

Go Matty Go!!!

Okay, I'm keeping Holliday. The optimism on this thread, not to mention the disparity in ABs, is giving me faith.

I'm just happy he's hitting over .300 now, and his handful of steals have been helpful, too.

Hawpe only plays vs righties as of now , Holliday plays every day, Hawpe has more raw power, Holliday probbably better average & such. i was reading in spring training how Hawpe has much more potential than Holliday, but i think Holliday is a more consistent option this year

The power isn't there yet because he's hitting a ton of line drives some of which have been screaming outs. He should have a very solid year. As with most Rockies, he's awesome if you have the roster space to platoon him.

Hawpe should hopefully continue to start vs. righties, although it seems as though Hurdle has a thing for Mohr and there have been reports that Mohr might play most of the time...which would hurt Hawpe. Makes no sense to me, for what that's worth. I think Mohr is lousy, and would actually rather see a Hawpe/Restovich platoon, but what do I know.

As for Holliday, he's a gap hitter, so even at Coors I don't see him as a HR guy.

On the money here. CBS only allows 2 bench spots (dumb) but I used one to platoon Matt. He is on the road all next week. Back to back 0 fers is not making me happy.
Inserted Larry Walker for week 5.
