Who's the best 'sell high' candidate?

Postby Subversive » Thu May 12, 2005 9:37 am

Hi guys, I have a team that is doing very well in most of the pitching stats, but I desperately need a masher, cause I'm near last in HR and RBI. Some of the pitchers I have on my staff are Mussina, Maddux, Pedro, Willis, Lowe, & Brown. Which of these do you think is the best sell high candidate? Ie: Is unlikely to continue to perform at his current level, and will net me the best slugger in return. Thanks for any suggestions.
Bah, humbug.

I would try to trade Lowe first, then Dontrelle. Dontrelle will likely continue to be a good pitcher, but not this good.

Brian Roberts. I'm not saying he's going to plunge big time, but right now he's number 1 overall in Yahoo. If you can find a manager who does trades by ranks and he sees Roberts as number 1 in all of fantasy baseball right now according to Yahoo, you never know what top 10 player that person might give up. I wouldn't sell him cheap, but you never know what you could get, especially if someone is going off Yahoo rankings.

just for the players listed, not the league (no need to let the thread get away by accident)

I would definitely sell Dontrelle to the highest bidder. You should get one or two pretty good sluggers for him.

I would say Brown. There is no way he ever has another quality start in him again. After that one start I think his value has peaked. I say this in all seriousness.

Nobody is going to trade FOR Kevin Brown.

Willis stands out to me. Roberts would be an ok option but you need to get high end value for him, he realistically could be as good as any other 2B the rest of the year since its such a weak position and he's in such a good lineup.

Floyd, Bradley, Sweeney, Klesko are all guys that could get hurt or end up mediocre from here on out and I'd try to get rid of if I owned them.
