My starting pitching staff will come around, won't it?

Any thoughts?

CZambrano
Oliver Perez
KEscobar
KBrown
Radke
Weaver
Millwood

I know it won't win any Cy Youngs, but right now I am in dead last in almost every pitching category (except Saves), and I thought it would be much better than this!

BTW, I did trade away Freddie Garcia straight up for Sheffield; couldn't pass up that power.

please, do drop kevin brown.

CZambrano-he's already around
Oliver Perez -i think he heats up in july/august, much to late
KEscobar -he's coming back, very solid starter
KBrown -horrible
Radke -he'll come around
Weaver -4 ERA, decent starter
Millwood - burned me last 2 years but oding well so far. i don't know if he'll keep it up.

I agree that Brown has been horrible, but at least he has potential to get some wins with the Yanks roster, and I figure he can't continue being as horrendous as he has so far.

Yeah, I think you're in pretty good shape with that staff, except for Brown. He should be on the waiver wire at this point, you're better off spot starting guys (for example, a Chris Capuano type) or just not having that extra starter. I've been trying to acquire Ollie, he could very well be poised for a Santana-esque run. Zambrano's good, Radke's solid, and I've always liked the Ks that Escobar can get you. I'd actually look to deal Millwood myself if I had him, I think he's due for a collapse.

CZambrano - studly talent, but questionable make-up
Oliver Perez - inconsistent
KEscobar - injured
KBrown - way more bad outings than good will be my guess
Radke - solid
Weaver - can be inconsistent
Millwood - decent

I dunno. I'd grade this staff a C at best.

The pendulum is swinging the other way for Brown now, I think. A couple more decent starts and he's going to be disappearing from a lot of WW's. Millwood is the guy that I see less upside for. He's good for that occasional super game, but who can guess when that's going to be? If I had Weaver on my roster, I'd be very selective in how I used him, to.

i dont understand why everyone is so down on k. brown. when healthy , hes probably one of the best pitchers in the game. he started out slow, but pitched well in his last couple of games. plus he plays for the yanks, whiich should bring him close to 15 wins this year

It's pretty decent pitching. Ollie Perez is the big question mark.
If he regains his control, he will be back, but until he can keep the walks and his pitch count down, he won't be nearly as good as last year.

I am not sure if you are watching the same K Brown as me. When you say one of the best in the game, do you mean Santana or Peavy type best?
He is waiver wire material.

I'm not terribly high on your staff, and in fact think it's got a shot to be pretty awful.

Zambrano, no problem as long as he can pitch.

Perez is an unknown quantity at best, and a possible continued disaster. He showed positive signs last time out, but this was against the Rockies, and he still had control issues.

Escobar is hurt, again.
Brown is okay, maybe, and possibly lousy.
Radke is steady enough though hardly spectacular.
Weaver is way too erratic for my liking, and you'll have to hope he steadies as he did last year. That's iffy with a perpetual head case.
Millwood will have to prove he can maintain all year.

I think it's a staff that's very high risk and not nearly as high reward.
