I'd wait for a bit and see if they move Dempster back into the starting role with Prior out (doubtful). If they don't then IMO he's not worthy of a roster spot in a standard league. Dempster has settled down in the closer role and I don't see a reason to get him out of there with the success he is having.

Your guess is as good as any, Dusty is a complete Enigma, and little that he does makes sense. Dempster is pitching well right now. If you're not desparate for saves, you may want to drop Borowski and look to improve your team elsewhere.

Though you do have to entertain the fact that the Cubbies might want to move Dempster back in the rotation with the injury to Prior....

To sum up..it's a mess....

I think Dempster stays. The young arms in the Cubs' system have a better chance of producing wins than a Cubs bullpen without Dempster in it.

A lot of people say the way you build a pitching staff is from the back end first. If you take Dempster out of the closer's role, even though he's not Gagne-esque or anything, it only adds to the trouble the Cubs are currently in.

Then again I have Dempster and don't want to see him moved :-b

I'd say 60/40 in favor of Demp. There's no reason to make a change if he's fine...and Borowski isn't pitching really well, either.

I 'd say that the chance isn't that good as DEmpster is having success. I think we will see Mitre or Wellemeyer get a starting position.

The Cubs plan from the start was to ease JB back in (not closing). But Dempster is far from a sure thing. 4 saves isn't a lock. Chicago hasn't announced Dempster as their closer. Once he blows 1 or 2, look for JB to take the role imo.
