Ugie back to setup role

Postby AT » Wed Jun 08, 2005 9:11 am

Ugueth Urbina (P) DET - Jun 08
http://www.rotowire.com/baseball/player.htm?id=5205

Urbina, at his own suggestion, has been moved back into his setup role. Troy Percival will return to closing, the Tigers' team site reports.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Urbina suggested to manager Alan Trammell that he move back to the setup role. "He's on board, and he thinks that that would be the [best] role," manager Alan Trammell said.

Damn it :~(

I give it 3 weeks tops until Percival blows out his arm again, I'm holding on to Ugie.

Not sure if I should applaud him for being a team guy or bash him for not wanting the ball in the 9th.

All I can hope for are more wins. I need those more than saves right now.

Good for me. I found Percival on the WW about a week ago and counted my blessings...The one kid in my league who has no patience let him go about a month ago.
I love baseball.

We all knew this was coming. Grats to those who were able to trade Urbina.

I still wouldn't bank on Percival being all the way back yet. I think he will eventually get the job back but he is a SERIOUS injury risk and UUU has been awesome since Percy went down.

UUU is probably the best candidate to be traded before the deadline. He has proven thus far that he can handle closing games and is a much better option than someone like Julio.

WUSS! :-b

Hmm, I'm just wondering if he's trying to show himself at his peak value rather than stay in there for one or two more games and implode. If he does bad in setup, prospective teams might not worry about it. I bet he wants out of there badly and wants to go to another team that can contend (Braves would be a likely choice).

Percival has been sitting in the free agent pool in my league for quite some time.

I agree, Percival tends to be injury-prone, so one way or another Urbina may find his way back into a closer role. If you have the room I'd hold onto him.

Bummer. I'm in a holds league, so I'll hang onto him. But with Gordon, Madson and MGonzalez I'm already rockin' in setup numbers. Meanwhile, now I'm down to Fuentes and the Mota formerly known as closer to get saves. :,-(
Since I don't wish for players to get injured, guess I'll be rooting for an Uggy trade.
