Ya, Jones has been awesome, after a couple of awful years.

So it's his job? McKeon has been talking about splitting it, but that hasn't happened yet.

I think as Mota gets back into shape and Jones inevitably falters at some point, the job will go back to Mota. When that is going to be is beyond me, but that's my guess anyway.

I'd guess Mota has to get some hitters out before he earns a share of the job.
Last night was promising, with only one hit and no ER in an inning. Baby steps.

Mota is a buy low guy right now. As with many good buy low guys, there comes a risk that Mota might not bounce back into the closer's role, but odds are that he will. Jones really hasn't posted a strong year since 1997, so chances are 8 years later he isn't going to post an ERA under 2. Keep Mota.
...Boston papers now and then suffer a sharp flurry of arithmetic on this score; indeed, for Williams to have distributed all his hits so they did nobody else any good would constitute a feat of placement unparalleled in the annals of selfishness. -Updike
