18.49023766...

First place is at 206.5, then second place is 184. 3-7 are all in between 161 and 165. Then 8-10 are all below 155.

17.06 for a 5x5 11 team roto

for those that are still wondering about standard deviation....

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Standard_deviation

basically its some heavy math to tell you how much variation there is between the numbers... like others said the more competitve the league the lower the number....

lets do an example of a 3 team league with 5x5 scoring
for each category there are 6 points 3 + 2 + 1 = 6
and we have 10 total categories giving us total pts of 60 for 3 players

now lets say the points break up like this where for some reason every team has the same amount of points
20
20
20
if we use excel =stdev(range of numbers20-20) we get zero and a very competitive league

if our league looked like this
30
20
10
and use excel the same way we get a stdev of 10 and while competitive its not as competitve as if it had a lower stdev

of course the more players you have the higher you can expect your stddev

and im not much of a math wiz but this is kinda my take on things someone please correct me if im wrong and i will edit this because i wouldnt want to spread bad info....

We play in a 10 team 6x5.

H2h...so i dont think i can do deviation.

Anyway, the breakup is a little blurry...

the bottom 3 are all 21 plus games out of it...so they are all pretty much toast.

Then everyone else is 12 or less away.

The top four are all within 3...then the next 3 are 5,7, and 12 out.

Not a very rigid dividing line...
