John Lackey?

Postby Doughhead » Sun Jun 26, 2005 6:58 pm

I thought this guy was terrible ever since making a name for himself at the World Series two years back. Is he finally coming into his own or has he just strung together a few good starts before coming back to reality?

On a related note, would you rather have him or Dan Haren (both very hot right now)?

with lackey it seems to be all mental. he has a knack for giving up big innings. however i did hear the angles announcers say that bud black has cleaned up his mechanics a bit with his slurve ball.

Ya, he looks like he has figured things out...recently. Ive seen him pitch twice this year, at Dodger Stadium and on Friday in Anaheim. In both games, he completely dominated the game. Now I know it was against the dodgers, but he is looking sharp.

Im thinking of picking him up this week to start over Rogers. With Hudson and Eaton on the DL, my pitching staff is hurting! I tried Rogers last outing...which was against the Angels...and that didnt work out. So know Im thinking of going with Lackey this week. Either way, I will be making the wrong decision...

Check his splits, easy decision. Bench him on the road, start him at home.

Ouch, glad I traded him yesterday(still got his start tonight)

He looked good but really fell apart in the fifth with 2 outs. I know it was at Texas, but no home runs caused the meltdown.

I still think he's a great 4th starter, but I think it's sell high time sooner then later. As in yesterday :-D
