Clemens' worth for the remainder of the year?

Postby SonsofSlam04 » Thu Jun 30, 2005 4:07 pm

I belong to a 10 Team (9) players each (Tiered) H2H Keeper league, currently I am last in pitching and barely holding onto to a playoff spot. The owner that has Clemens has made it known he is available. Here is my dilmena; Is Clemens worth a #1 pick and a stud prospect(F Hernandez or P Fielder) or should I offer a #2 pick and a stud prospect (F Hernandez or P Fielder). I dont plan on keeping Clemens. I realize this may not be in the best forum, but I am having a hard time getting any replies.... PLEASE HELP!

Huh?

Clemens could be worth it. It depends on how many players are kept and what kind of player a #1 pick nets. Your "future studs" aren't close to being MLB studs yet, their value should not be super high right now - and if it is, in your league, trade them. Another thing this depends on is what kind of run you can make in the playoffs. If you can hang with the top teams in your league once you get Clemens then that is incentive to pull the trigger. If you're just going to limp into the playoffs and bow out shortly thereafter then you are likely better off not doing the trade and keeping your high draft choice.

We keep up to 9 players. We are allowed to keep up to 2 at any position and the level of players kept vary from A type players to C type players to preserve the integrity of the draft.
