2B at Shea = The Bermuda Triangle

The list of 2B casualities for the New York Mets is growing! Here are some of the lastest casualities:

Kaz Matsui = Overrated, cant hit
Miguel Cairo = DL Stint, the minute he was annointed the starting 2B
Jose Reyes = DL Stint after DL Stint Last year
Roberto Alomar = see Carlos Baerga
Carlos Baerga = Vanished the minute he stepped out onto the field at Shea
Jeff Kent = AVG 2B in NY , borderline Hall of Famer the minute his plane was airborn to another MLB city.

Perhaps Jimmy Hoffa is buried under 2B at Shea ...

At third base as well. Before Ventura for a few years, and now hopefully Wright for the next decade, 3rd base truly was the hot corner for the Mets. In 40 somewhat years, they had an staggeringly high number of thirdbaseman.

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
