What's up with Loretta?

Is his injury effecting his power, or is it just small sample size that has kept him from hitting homers and getting rbis?

He wasn't much of a power hitter to begin with. I am positive his grip on the bat and swing is not as comfortable right now for him

I was all over him in my draft this year and luckily for me someone else was too and took him in like the 4th round and I missed out on him. I then just filled up all my other spots and settled for BROB in like the 16th round....

I think that worked out for me.

Lucky, I was in the same position and thought I got a steal with Loretta in the 6th. Thankfully I got Utley and B-rob too.

He wasn't much of a power hitter to begin with.

When compared to Pujols, Sheffield, Manny or other traditional power hitters, but last year he had the best OPS among starting second basemen (better than Soriano) and he hit 16 homers with 76 rbis. The only thing he didn't do was steal a ton of bases... but this year he has passed his SB total, and is hitting .290, but none of the power is there.

Agree with bd3521.
He was never much of a power threat, and he plays in a ballpark/lineup that actually suppresses power. Besides, he was injured.
If anything, I would say he overachieved last season. I would be happy if he ever came close to those numbers again, but I would not gamble on it.

As a Padre homer, he was not even on my radar this season, even though 2B was a shallow position.
