He took the loss today. How long before they move him out of the closer role?

Before today he had put up a string of zeroes under the earned runs column, so it was just one run in a while. Everyone gives up a run now and then, even Smoltz (today). He's straightened himself out after a wild ride early on.
The odds of the AL MVP coming from the American League are looking pretty good.

well, I'm stuck with him too and I can't say that I agree with the statement that "he (Koch) has straightened himself out". Today, he takes the loss and turns in a 9.00 ERA and a 3.00 WHIP. Last week, he pitched 2/3 of an inning, wound up with a 13-something ERA.

yea, but he only let up one run. and he ahs collected saves lately. he is looking ok. don;t give up yet. maggs and lee haven;t exactly luit up yet. a little run support would be nice.

Don't give up on him yet. He's struggled, but you'll never get him back if you drop him.
