I'm not a huge believer in Garland. He's solid no doubt, but I don't think his stock is going to get much higher.

Which deals haven't you liked? I'm not saying you should like them all, just curious to get a Chicago fan's perspective...

Realy? You want Garland?

I think he's extremely overated, the Sox will undoubtedly want at least two top drawer pitching prospects for him. Him being a one year rental.

He reminds me of Horacio Ramirez both in pitching style and in value, thats not a good thing.......

That is a bad comparison. Garland's at least better than Horacio Ramirez...that Blalock trade would do wonders for Texas, Garland's sinker would be phenomenal for that ballpark.

Edit: Once I thought about it, he kinda is like Ramirez...uh-oh.

i hate the vazguez deal only becasue i don't care for him and never have. i don't mind the players we gave up ,with the exception of young, but i just don't like his game. he could turn out to be decent but at this point all it does is block mccarthy's progression. the thome deal was good as far as we needed a big left handed bat in the lineup and if he stays healthy he could be the solid protection konerko needs and should increase his value in the run department. if blalock were more consistent i wouldn't mind the deal at all but he isn't. i would rather take my chances on garland busting and mccarthy work his way in then trade him away and then have mccarthy fall apart and with vazquez and contrearas a couple bad pitches away from complete meltdowns the staff as of now is pretty scary and kinda overrated on the whole.
