We use it as well... Planning on using it in our third year... No huge issues for us.

This was already ruled on years ago. Alan Schwartz covered in in his book The Numbers Game. Courts have already ruled that statistics are news (events that happened in public), and property of no one.

Could not have been YEARS AGO?

This lawsuit was just filed last year.

Not this specific case, but it came up when wireless companies started to provide game updates on pagers, and MLB tried to prevent them from providing real time updates of scores and stats.

It would be ridiculous if MLB players were paid for their stat usage. I imagine it would have to cover the larger scale including newspapers and electronic media. Imagine if ESPN had to pay to report on their stats?
