Great deal for the O's. I see very little risk side because the Minor Leaguers are nothing to be impressed about. I really like this deal, and can't believe Chicago didn't get a better offer for him. :-?

I can't believe the Astros didn't take a chance on him as bad as they needed offense.
You don't have to like 'em to own 'em!!!!

Who would want to pay a premium for Patterson? He has never hit over .270 in a full season and Felipe Alou walks more than him.

There's a BIG difference between a "premium" and the package that Baltimore sent over.

I'm not suprised that the Cubs didn't get more for him. (nice double negative.) He had to get sent back down to the minors for a stretch last year, and when he came back he was worse than before! A .215 hitter is just a liability.

Does anyone else think he has SLEEPER written all over him now? A lot of people are gonna be really scared to pick him, but he could be a decent (especially in a roto league- his slumps will still be harsh) pickup late (last 3-5 rounds, or $1-2) as a spare OF or UTIL. I can only assume that the Orioles are gonna give him a chance to win a full time job.

The thing I regret about this is that I was looking forward to seeing him and his little brother Eric playing together on the same team.
