"We are not zeroing in on anybody I consider a difference-maker or anybody who might be an upgrade," Sabean said.

That means the Giants could start the spring with
Jason Schmidt
Matt Morris
Noah Lowry
Matt Cain
as the top four starters,

then have
Hennessey
Kevin Correia
Brian Cooper
Merkin Valdez
compete for the fifth spot.

It is Hennessey's job to lose.

"You have to start with him," Sabean said. "If you look at his 21 starts last year, 13 of them were quality starts. The games he didn't do well, it happened early in the ballgame and he didn't recover. He piques our interest because we feel he can be better."

This is an excellent front four, so all it will take is a 125+ game season from Bonds and they should win the division title.

Forget the man crush. I drop what I'm doing to watch Zack Greinke pitch.

That's not a bad rotation, especially considering that they will face a lot of anemic offences.

Once again Sabean will try to get by on just enough. As soon as one pitcher goes down, the excuses will begin. I'm a Giants fan with no faith in Sabean.

I'm actually not that unhappy with how sabean handled this offseason. The market for starting pitching was completely inflated, so there was no way we were goin got make a push at one of the big name guys, but Sabean managed to sign a relatively reliable veteran to shore up a rotation that had a lot of young guys. I do wish that he would've made more of a push towards getting another bat, preferably lefty, and preferably a first basemen, but I wouldn't have done it if it meant giving up Cain though.
