because if you do a live yahoo draft, people just naturally scroll through the interface and might forgot about someone like hermida who is at the very bottom of the ranking list

Foolishly enough, Hermida was the actual reason I started this thread, and I forgot to include him!

what calibur league is it where people FORGET about jeremy hermida....i guess i just naturally like a tougher league, be it on league depth or just the involvement of the owners, and take no pride in beating a league where jeremy hermida is forgotten about.

It happens. You're chatting and having fun and your turn to pick. Suddenly, your three top guys disappear and you decide you don't want some guy. Some start to panic, times ticking, your kids are yelling, the wife is nagging, the phone rings, your neighbor won't turn off that freaking blower, the dog is barking, the stereo is blasting Eurogarbage, your mind is exploding, and doh! You pick some idiot, while the next guy laughs at you with a brilliant pick of Brian Roberts in the 22nd round. Could happen....

I don't know, man. Some of you people need to lighten up and reaffirm that this is only a game.

Some people have GASP other priorities that us statheads don't.

Basically, any rookies, and anyone who was hurt last year.

I, for one, love Yahoo rankings, because of the way my league drafts.

We do an "offline" draft, in other words, we pass around an excel sheet thru email, and the commish updates us as picks happen. He actually has all the players in the spreadsheet, and how he does that, i'll never know. ;-) He uses the Yahoo rankings to sort the players.

Anyways, my league has a few idiots in it. For example, Carl Pavano went in round 5 last year due to Yahoo rankings, beacus he was at the top of the sheet. Additionally, we have a certain time limit for picks, and after that time limit expires, the top ranked player gets picked for that manager.

So, Yahoo rankings give me the ammo for a steal in the later rounds.

I love how Yahoo! rankings are usually way off... I play in a bragging rights league with my friends and only two of us are in the know enough to do extra research; everyone else just drafts from the Yahoo O-ranks.

Needless to say, the two of us are always 1st and 2nd at the end.

Maybe the other guys have caught on by now, but yeah, it's a great way to get a leg up and if you know other guys in your league are drafting exclusively from from the Yahoo ranks, then you can see which guys you can get for a real steal without grabbing them too early.

Weeks is a sleeper at 105? 8-o

I like the kid fine, but that seems pretty high for my taste.
