Yahoo Experts Draft

Postby redsoxflyfishr » Wed Mar 22, 2006 1:13 pm

I was looking at the Yahoo experts draft Q&A last night and one of the managers drafted Minnesota 1B Terry Tiffee in the 5th round. Does anyone know anything about this guy? I don't know if the pick was a mistake but I had a hard time believing I wouldn't even recognize a guy that goes that early in a draft. Although it says it's an expert draft so maybe they know something I don't.

I think what must have happened is that they did an offline draft, and then whoever input the results messed up.

Under the transactions page, Tiffee has been dropped for Hafner - and obviously Hafner would have been drafted by one of those guys.

That draft was kinda bizarre, most of the teams I don't even like much.

a lot of the so called experts really don't have much expertise in my opinion. they probably sit at their comp all day reading player reports and scouring the waiver wires of their fourteen leagues, but they really have no clue what they are doing. just following a cheat sheet someone made at the start of the season which everyone else has fashioned their cheat sheet of off.

They said they were gonna drop the Util position, but changed their minds when they realized Hafner was eliminated from the player pool. So they all agreed that Tiffee would be Hafner, and the person that takes Tiffee would get Hafner off the waiver wire after the draft.

I questioned several picks that those so called "experts" made.

It is funny, but he probably figured that since a guy like Ortiz managed to qualify, Hafner must have.

That whole thing of Ortiz playing about 17 games at 1b last year and Hafner not owning a glove must have aluded him
