far too early on V Mart and Mauer. Too early on Carpenter. Seems a little early on Carlos Lee as well.

Kerry Wood fell *really* far. I guess no one has any confidence in him returning (I would have been hard pressed to pass him up in the low teens - I certainly think he's more likely to start a game this season than Roger Clemens, who went in the 17th). Nomar going a few picks before Barmes seems a little odd, too - I guess he liked the 3B eligibility?

For the most part, it doesn't seem *too* out of wack, though.

Someone drafted Jojhima 72nd overall excuse me if you disagree but that is laughable or V Mart second round yikes.

Agreed, I looked at this draft and it's a quirky draft at best.

Plus, Funston's so caught up in the idea that A-Rod's the sure 1st pick that he mildly belittles the other guy for going Pujols first.

I'm liking Pujols first myself (I get a second pick in my big draft saturday and am hoping the first pick goes a-rod...)

In my eyes, Arod and Pujols are nearly dead even.

Statistically speaking, I agree, but the 3B eligibility makes it a no brainer.

Adjustment for position scarcity included, they are dead even to me.

Yes, and particularly because I have a good 3B option waiting, and have plenty of SBs planned out ... Pujol's better offensive figures (AVG particularly) makes Pujols ahead just a tad.

Considering A-Rod has outperformed Pujols 4 out of the last 5 years, I'm wondering what you're basing your opinion on? Just a hunch?

Brandon Funston Chased Cantu in the 3rd, took B.J. Ryan in front of Nathan and Billy :-b

BTW: is there any relation between Matt Buser and mbuser in the basketball cafe? :-?
