Mench - Triple Crown?

Postby ximan » Fri Mar 31, 2006 12:23 pm

from rotoworld...

Kevin Mench, LF TEX

News: Kevin Mench clinched the Cactus League's triple crown Thursday. He went 1-for-3, which dropped his batting average to .463, but it left him one point better than Kansas City's Angel Berroa. Mench also had seven homers and 18 RBIs.

Analysis: Mench has some serious sleeper potential in what should be a potent Texas order. He has the potential to hit 30-plus home runs and should be active in all formats in the first week of the regular season.

Impressive, but I would have thought his big jump would have happened last year. Instead, he actually regressed from his 2004 season.

i drafted him to be my 3rd outfielder behind beltran and crawford. Since the draft , ive upgraded to holliday, so mench is on my bench.

Im happy with that situation. He has the upside to be a fantasy starter. Whether winning the cactus league triple crown means anything, i have no idea

Wow. Even though it's ST, that's still impressive.

I've got Mench as one one of my "You will be doing backflips because you grabbed him that late" guys.

One of my bold predictions this year is .290, 35 HR from Mench.

apparantly they had nothing but Dairy Queen employees pitching in the cactus league this year.

I've got high hopes for Mench this season though. Hitting in that park with the Texas lineup around him, he should be able to put up good numbers.

And Enrique Wilsom led the Grapefruit league in batting one year. Take it for what it is worth...namely nothing imo.
