"Positional Depth" and Draft Order by Position

Postby zoolander » Fri Mar 31, 2006 12:26 pm

For an AL-only 5x5 roto league, what are the most critical posiiton(s) to fill early during the draft? Which position(s) can I leave until later?

Also, the league is only 6 teams. Should I draft any differently because of this?

Thanks for all comments!

For a 6 man league...

1b is actually kinda shallow compared to the NL. After Tex and Ortiz it drops to Sexson and then Konerko, and then another big drop off to Thome and not much else afterward.

2Bi s also very thin and not much there...

SS is a good position in the AL with guys like Tejada, Young, Jeter, Lugo, and Peralta

C is pretty deep in the AL

What about pitchers vs. position players in AL? Starters vs. relievers?
