I do not know whether I should laugh at him or Prior owners more.
Which really means...you will be lucky to see him in June.

Rotoworld:
Cubs manager Dusty Baker suggested Thursday that he sees Mark Prior being "five, six weeks behind."
Prior, who played catch again yesterday and had no problems, didn't think he was starting completely over after taking two weeks off with a strained muscle in his right shoulder. Baker seems to feel differently, so it looks like Prior has little chance of pitching in the majors during April

on the bright side, they don't seem to be in a hurry to rush him back... it's possible he hits the mound in the early summer and puts up huge numbers for the rest of the season... or at least a couple of months

*fingers crossed*

:-o

Well... yea this sucks. I took Prior in a couple leagues because he fell to round 5 or so (This was before he had a ST injury). Was happy to have him in that round as an ace, not so much anymore :-o

Ya know something, though? Don't hold your breath. Prior is never ever going to be healthy again. I purposely avoided him in my draft, even when i could get a sweet deal on him.

Wood and Prior will not live up to the talents that they have... it almost makes me feel sorry for them.

it's really waaay to early to say that... i could just not pass when it got to the 12 round... even if he only pitches 100 innings, they'll still be quality innings

Baker has established himself as an idiot before and this news does suck, but it contradicts a lot of the other stories on Prior. Check out the prior thread in the injuries forum. There's one blurb saying that Prior is progressing quickly.

If anything Baker would babble in favor of an early return, not a more pessimistic one. Either way youl ook at it and given the record of the Cubs management about bold-faced lieing wrt injuries, I would not bet on seeing Prior before late May at the earliest.
