Jason Giambi?? Whats his deal?

Postby lbbaseball14 » Sun Apr 09, 2006 11:36 am

He's starting the season off real slow and was just dropped to waivers by someone in my league. What happened to the comback player of the year we saw last year ? or is this just a slow start that he should bounce back from?

1 week into the season, we must assume it's a slow start and nothing more.... I wouldn't go trading for the guy, but give me him from Waivers any day of the week...

He's got A-Rod hitting in front of him, and Matsui right after him.

Don't freak quite yet ;-D

He looks good at the plate and is hitting the ball fairly well. He's been hitting into the shift quite a bit. He'll adjust. I wouldn't worry just yet.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

He looks fine. He is taking pitchers 10 pitches deep quite often. As mentioned above, he has hit into the shift 2 or three times robbing him of hits.....and he has just gotten unlucky. He may not have the numbers to show for his efforts right now, but he has been perfectly fine at the plate.

The reason for his slow start right now is that pitchers are pitching fastballs in on the hands whuch he is having trouble hitting. Id expect him to adjust soon enough and have a good season. I think you should pick him up and just bench him until he starts producing.

Welcome to Dumb First Week Panic Moves, Part XXIV. Someone with an open DL spot dropped Nomar in my main league.

Ehh, I wouldn't go that far... Giambi's monthly splits aren't wildly divergent from the mean... June and July seem to be his strongest months, though.
