he still sucks though

They have no other pitcher in their bullpen that could do any better though.

I assume they wanted the lefty-lefty matchup, but they probably didn't have the splits in front of them:

Remlinger doesn't eat up lefties by any means. He's actually better against righties.

Nick Johnson is destroying righties this season, but still hitting .286 against lefties and is split right down the middle these past few years.
The odds of the AL MVP coming from the American League are looking pretty good.

I just picked up remlinger in all 8 of my fantasy leagues! I hope he works out as the closer.

Just kidding. He was only brought it to face the lefty Johnson. Also, I only have 3 fantasy teams.

Yeah, Cox brought in the lefty to face the lefty... despite the fact that Remlinger has an inverted split. :-?

Doesn't make much sense, but hey, no one ever said Cox was the best in-game manager of all time. :-)

Oh, and I wouldn't feel bad about Villareal closing at all.

I been saying for weeks, eventually Villareral is gonna be closing for the braves, whether or not he gets it done, i don't know. But for weeks now i have been saying he will get the next shot to close, Resithma is just not gonna get it done. Villareal has been very good this season, and even though he has blown saves, u can not look hard into those, he simply came into the game with lots of guys on base, etc, in other words not his fault, its not like coming in the start of an inning with no1 on.

If Reitsma implodes right now, sure, that's possible. But I'm sticking with my prediction that it's Devine by the ASB.
