Beckett vs. Duckworth this weekend?

Postby easygoing » Fri Jul 25, 2003 3:33 pm

I know duckworth has been pathetic this weekend, but Philly has hit up Beckett twice this season already... I know that pitchers adjust, but I am can't afford any more losses... do I play Beckett?

I think I will take a risk and start him. He hasn't won consecutive starts since april but because he's healthy and pitching at home, I will give him the nod, hoping that philly offense won't figure him out. He probably will get the win since he's going up against duckworth who will be lucky to get 5 innings, but I think Beckett will go 7 innings, 8 hits, 1 er, 10 k's

pretty good on your prediction so far...

4.1 IP, 1 ER, 7 K's, 6 hits, 2 walks...hopefully he keeps the hits down for the next 2 innings...would like to see that WHIP come down to 1.30 or below. ;-D

if beckett could just pitch every fifth day....my goodness. this guy is a K machine. more career k's than innings pitched. and what nasty stuff. keeping my fingers crossed for years of health so he can lead my keeper team to many victories.

I'd drop Lincoln for him. The Pirates won't be winning many games, especially after they move Giles and Kendall.
