Jered Weaver for the long term

Postby RedWoodTree824 » Mon May 29, 2006 9:04 pm

What can fantasy owners expect from Jered Weaver in the long run? (In terms of rotation spot and success)

I say he keeps the job until Colon comes back, and when Colon does come back, Jered will be sent to the pen for a week or 2, then he will get it back as they will finally demote Jeff Weaver to the pen.

In terms of success I expect like a 3.7 era with a little less than a K per inning

That's the million-dollar question for me, as well. I want to snag him, but i won't if he doesn't stick in the rotation after Colon returns.

Hopefully, though Jeff is making a fortune, and money talks.

we just need to hope jered pitches well enough that the angels are remissed to remove him.

I doubt they would put him in the pen, they want him as a starter. If they don't use him as a starter, they will send him back to AAA to start games, but I think he sticks in the rotation and either Jeff Weaver or Santana go to the pen, probably Santana since Jeff is soooooooo overpaid! Lets see how he does in his next start.

ok with waiver expiring on weaver soon, will weaver be worth a high waiver priority?

jeff weaver pitched decently on tuesday so he might keep his spot in the rotation, meaning when colon comes back jered might not have a spot? either that or he replaces santana...
