Good hand-eye coordination is one of those most unique and special things that separates humans from all other species and primates, so why invent a sport where you can rarely use it? It's like bobbing for apples, just that it takes hours and you don't get an apple. Soccer is basically hours of watching guys in shorts jog around interspered with 20 seconds or so worth of moments where somebody might actually score. I just don't see the point, unless you're already really into watching guys in shorts jog around... not that there's anything wrong with that.

Its called FOOTBALL, and its the greatest game ever! WOrld cup baby B-)

P.S What do you think Euros ,Brits and South Americans are saying about American Football and Baseball :-b :-b

A "unique" thing regarding baseball is it's the only sport where the manager of the team wears a uniform ;-)

And another reason it's the best sport . . . I can watch a 12-11 slugfest or a 1-0 pitching dual and absolutely love every minute of the action :-D

Also I love that there is no time limit - it's over when it's over ;-D

A 9 inning game might take two hours, it might take four. The pressure builds as the game goes on, but it doesn't become hurried or rushed, just more intense.

IMO this is the main reason why baseball is the best. Because there is no clock the game isn't over until the last out is recorded. In football if your team is down by 6 touchdowns with 5 minutes left you can pretty much turn the game off because you know they won't come back. Same thing in basketball, hockey or just about any other sport with a clock. In baseball you can be down 6, 7, 8 runs and come back with a couple of big innings because of the fact that there is no clock.

Another thing is that if you watch the game you can see and learn something new every time. Just the other day I saw a batter get called out on batter's interference for fouling a ball off with his back foot out of the batter's box. In the Twins game there was a triple play and a run scored. There are just so many intricacies to the game that you can see something new, different, and exciting every time. Great post! ;-D
