General question on Corey Patterson type player value

Patterson's season isn't really a breakout - he is posting fairly similar numbers to what he did with the Cubs over a full season in 2004. Only difference so far is a slight decrease in SO (from 1 in 4 AB to 1 in 5 AB) and an increase in SB, which is partly attributable to his tremendous success rate so far. He won't be able to continue to steal bases at this rate without getting caught a little more.

we had this same conversation not too long ago about jose valverde. everbody has their own opinions about whether or not someone is legit. two weeks ago i thought valverde was gold. patterson could play well the entire year and i still wouldnt think he was legit.
