Mench... Somebody get this guy some new shoes!

What's happened to this guy? Did his feet grow bigger all of the sudden?

He goes through crazy hot streaks where he can't hit anything short of home run territory and then he has an ice-cold month with maybe a single homer... I"m keeping him around because I figure sometime soon he'll start going on a tear again, but man the cold streaks are brutal.

Top it off with he seems to be sitting out on random days which isn't helping.

thats just mench... he's always been very streaky.
he'll go forever without a hr then suddenly he hits 8 out of nowhere.

he's sitting a lot lately because showalter wants to get derosa playing time, and the way he seems to do that lately is to sit mench or wilkerson

He is always been streaky, so that is something you will have to live with.

In terms of sitting out, it is not random days, it is around 25% of the time against RHs. Frankly, if you have a decent ammount of roster spots, it only makes sense to play him against lefties unless he is on one of his patented hot streaks.

He's not that good. If he were, Buck wouldn't be playing the lefty/righty game with him for the past few years. IMO, He's a good 5th or reserve OF in fantasy leagues.

buck hasnt really done that with him, he started a large majority of games last year against righties.
buck is overmanageing this season because he has the bench players that allow him to.
wilkerson sits against a lot of lefties, but actually hits them better than righties.

but i agree...mench should probably be your 4th of'r not a top 3
