I guess if he's taking more pitchers and working the count deeper he has a better chance to K and Walk

He's also getting walked more because he's performing so much better than his teammates, you can't pitch around him when he's protected.

Also maybe he's understandingt his job as a leadoff man.

I think both of those things are likely true. One alone certainly wouldn't explain the fact that he's more than doubled his walk rate. :)

Yeah, maybe in 6 or 7 years Francoeur can actually draw more than 20 walks in a season. :P
