I'd go with Gathright, he runs 6.1 in the 60 yard dash, that is jaw-droppingly fast.

Obviously I see more of Reyes than any of these other guys but Reyes is to me clearly the fastest man in baseball and one of the fastest I've ever seen. Of the guys listed only Gathright has top-end speed similar to Reyes.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

Out of everyone I've seen, Reyes seems to be the fasted going first to third, and he gets to full speed in like four steps...it's amazing just to watch him run.

Do we have time on these guys?
I do not proof of this but I remamber watching Grady Sizemore, and one of the announcers stated, 'He was one of the fastest players in baseball". This was last year during a Indians and White Sox game.

It's gotta be Gathright. That is if he really did run a 6.1. Reyes, if I remember correctly, was running the 60 at about 6.4 when he was first coming up, I doubt he's gotten significantly faster than that. The highest number I've heard for Nook is 6.38

I remember last year when Oakland was playing TB and after the game Jason Kendall said that watching Gathright run was like watching a movie on fast-forward, lol. :-D

I think it goes Gathright, Logan, Pods, Pierre, Reyes, FGuzman, Roberts, Figgins, Crawford, Freel, Taveras, Ichiro, Furcal, Drew...

I remember when Drew went to the Dodgers in his 1st week or so and hit a triple and somebody timed how fast he went from home to 3rd and it was crazy fast. He doesn't run because of fear of injury.

Fielder...got another steal today

Gathright is the fastest guy in a baseball uniform but he isnt the best base runner. Crawford is the best base runner in the game though.

Gathright is the fastest but he's TERRIBLE at getting a jump. If he takes off early enough he's unstoppable. Nook's VERY close to Gathright.

Crawford and Reyes would be next in my opinion but both of them are not just fast but are outstanding base runners and base stealers. Reyes is just sick at getting ridiculous jumps.
