Does N. Lowry Suck this bad?

Postby JohnnyBenchBest Ever » Mon Jun 19, 2006 10:02 am

Lowry's numbers the last month: 28 IP, 1W, 11K's, 4.82 ERA and a 1.39 WHIP. What's this guy's deal? I know he's coming off an injury but his numbers are terrible. Any chance that he turns it around, or is it time to look else where?

I think he's going through a small difficulty phase, he has been dropped in both of my leagues and I will be monitoring his next start b/c I will probably pick him up. He's better than what he has showed in my opinion.

Lowry is a 2nd half pitcher.

I drafted him as my 1st SP in the 10th round. Went with hitting then drafted sleeper SP. e.g. nabbed Lackey, Penny, Bonderman, Harang, Marquis. I was hoping that this would be his career year. He'll turn it around but his lack of Ks is very worrisome.

Zito is a 2nd half pitcher as well but he's having a career year. Hoping Lowry turns it up. I'm almost inclined to dump Lowry myself but I think I'll hold on to him.

I just went to check out his numbers. he was 5-0 in August last year and 8-0 in his career in August.

Think I'll just let someone else draft him and then I could just trade for him. :-D Hmmm, not a bad idea.

[I traded for him. ]
Are you going to ride this out and hope he turns it around the second half?

He'll be fine, it's amazing how worried this place gets over a few bad starts. Unless he's hiding an injury, there's no reason to believe he suddenly just forgot how to pitch. He'll be fine, give him some slack after his early season injury.

I think Lowry will be good for a 3.50 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, and a low K rate the rest of the season. The ERA and WHIP wont hurt a fantasy team.
