Give up on Teixeira?

You can't trade him or drop him at this point. He has no value, and you are just playing into your opponents hands by doing either. You have to bench him, and hope for the hot streak, and either trade him there, or ride it. If you are in a keeper league, you probably shouldn't get rid of him period this year unless you get a real sweet deal.

I don't even see benching him unless you are in a shallow leauge. He is 2nd in the league in doubles. He has bene robbed of a HR, a 2B, 5 RBIs and 2 Rs in the last week. Texas is getting warmer. It's coming.... patience grasshopper.

Tex is clearly a first half bust at this point, but to be fair, the whole Rangers lineup has been sort of a bust as well.

I don't think there's any doubt about it. I really don't think he's forgotten how to hit a dingdong the same way Knoblauch forgot how to throw a baseball.
Let's go O's. Let's go Mets.

Great article posted at Fan Graphs on Tex

I like this quote:

...his average flyball, groundball and line drives rates are now in line with his previous years. So, what gives indeed?

The simple answer appears to be that he’s not hitting the ball as hard as he used to.

I did not say steroids, and the author of that article refuses to speculate in kind as well. He's just stating what the numbers are telling him - Tex has lost his pop for some reason.

He clearly details exactly what a bust should act like. Whomever drafted him cannot possibly be having that great of a season because he was a first round pick.

Did you mean to use these: [sarcasm][/sarcasm]???

I only ask because I see an 0-for-3 day with a BB and a RBI.
