Can't he just drop off the face of the earth like Sosa and Palmeiro?

12 strikes and 21 balls isn't that impressive... Must have laid off the juice that week.

If someone went "tanya harding" on jose contreras's legs....I don't think the world would a worse place....

They should put it on Pay Per View...

I think Canseco pitched once while he was in the majors because on an episode of stump the schwab that aired today there was a game like name that tune. One of the clues was something like I went on the dl in 93 after getting hurt while pitching even though that wasn't my regular position. And Canseco was the answer.

I remember this. He pitched because it was a huge blowout. I don't remember any more details and am to lazy to Google right now.

I posted before reading the article and it says what I did in there.

"Canseco made one big league pitching appearance, working the final inning for the Texas Rangers in a 15-1 loss to the Boston Red Sox on May 29, 1993. He walked the bases loaded and allowed three runs and two hits. He threw 12 strikes and 21 balls, most of which were far from the strike zone.

But he tore a ligament in his elbow, ending his season. He said he felt a sharp pain in his elbow on his second pitch but stayed in and threw 31 more pitches."

Jose Canseco has the best stories. When I'm 80 years old, I won't tell my grandkids that I saw Albert Pujols play. I'll be telling them about the guy that let a ball bounce off his head and over the fence, and blew out his arm in his one pitching appearance, and made steroids national news, and...
