Just today, I began benching Paul Konerko in favor of Shawn Green (who was injured). I used to have Konerko starting at Util in front of Aramis Ramirez, but began to start Ramirez over Green when he got hot. Well today, Konerko finally homers. Great. I really need some homers too, as I'm in the bottom half in homers in my Roto league.

It is aggravating, but not as much as when you bench a pitcher who throws a shutout with tons of K's.

Nonetheless, you usually bench a player because they are doing poorly. If they start to turn it around, you should be happy.

Yeah, that's worse. Konerko's not doing poorly. He's been averaging a ribbie or so a game, although with a pretty poor average. I just have a feeling that Shawn Green's gonna 0/4 me tonight.

Piazza hit a 3 run homer already tonight on my bench. I started Posada by the way. About a month ago I was going through the free agents in that league and was astonished when I saw Piazza there, so I grabbed him. Trade deadline passed already though so I'm stuck with both of them. Guess there are worse things that can happen though. ;-)

There's an RBI double. Is Konerko heating up again? However, if I put him back in, I'm sure that Shawn Green, Aramis Ramirez, or whoever I bench for Konerko's gonna heat up. I've seriously already missed quite a few homers for this reason. But, if I ride Green/Ramirez, Konerko will keep on homering, while Green/Ramirez do their 0/4's. Why, oh why, are all the odds against me? :~(

OH DEAR GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I bet this is gonna be Konerko's best day of the season. And I doubt he's gonna be this hot for a while. Green's 0/3...Beltre 0/2 or 0/3...christ.

that's not as bad as when you drop a player and he decides to go into overdrive. like when i dropped thomas close to the all star break, or when i dropped jenkins 10 days ago. :~(

I tried using Konerko a bit, but it seemed when I did fit him in the line-up, he didn't do anything, or it would be his off-day. On a day like today you bemoan not having him in there, but he is one of those guys (like Green) who is too streaky to rely on. I'd rather not deal with him at all.
