Dude, you better not have jinxed him going 20/20.

Definitely one of the better RP options to have snagged out the fantasy free agent pool. That 1.61 ERA is filthy

I never would have guessed this when I reluctantly grabbed him about 17 saves ago. I would just tell Trevor to shut it down for the year and just play some long toss. I've got him stashed on DL just in case, but why even bring him backand risk it? Shooter's got it covered.

The Padres aren't going to the playoffs. Winning doesn't matter too much anymore. What's more important is to get their closer for next year (Hoffman) back into baseball and ready for 2004. If the situation was the opposite, then I'd agree you stick with the very hot hand.

He's still the story of the year for me (in a year with lots of great stories).

It'll be interesting to see what happens to Beck next season; most likely he'll set up for Hoffman, but he's bound to draw some interest...

I'd love to see him back next year with the Padres. But if he gets a big contact offer for say 2-3 years .. he would be stupid not jump on that final paycheck .. IMO.

How cool a guy is Beck? There had been rumors, but tonight the Padres announcers confirmed that in fact "Yes, it has been Rod Beck spotted in the parking lot after a couple of home game's ... tossing back a few with the fans... ;-D ;-D Gotta Love the Shooter..

Beck desereves the "guy who sucks but pitched well" award. I remember him being not so good for us in Boston and were not sorry to see himgo. Then everybody in my league laughed when the kid in last picked up Rod Beck. Well with the help of that 19/19 the kid has moved up into playoff position and is having a laugh at all of us. Good for the shooter! ;-D
Rest in peace Mitch Hedberg. I name my fantasy team "Buoyancy of Citrus", in your honor.
