What do you miss in baseball?

Postby LCBOY » Wed Aug 27, 2003 7:09 pm

Since the HR has became the thing is baseball, stolen bases have gone way down. I really miss the 100 SB player. I grew up watching Rickey, Tim Raines, Ron Le Flore, Vince Coleman, etc. They were fun to watch. People today think Juan Pierre is a great base stealer. PLEASSSE!!! Shoot, I remember when guys had 60 steals before August. Man, I'd settle for a young Marquis Grissom, 71-80 stolen base guy...

Is there any aspect of baseball that you miss and would like to see come back?

I miss the rule book strike zone....used to have it in the AL when the umps wore the balloon protectors.

I remember those huge "shield looking" protectors. They were funny looking! :-)
